Chief Philosophy

What naturally looks and feels healthy is very different from what we’ve been conditioned to believe by society, media advertising and the fitness industry.   An important part of being naturally fit means transforming the workout into the joy of movement- it means being fully engaged with the physical body.  It requires  improving ones knowledge of what it really means to be functionally fit, and reawakening the body’s innate wisdom; your intuition.

Awakening our intuition begins with asking why.  Why do you work out? Why are you joining a gym?  Why are you pursuing fitness? Why do you choose certain types of exercise, machines or equipment in your workout?  Why are you going on a diet? Why are you in pain? The intelligent component of fitness is the educational piece. As the fitness industry continues to bombard us with the newest trends and workouts, we must begin to educate ourselves on the importance and meaning of being functionally fit as we age.  We must also learn how improper posture and exercise technique can create movement imbalance and pain in the body.  We must learn how our exercise choices could be doing more harm than good and we must reconnect our bodies with real, functional movement.  By creating a deepened awareness of one’s body with movement in connection with an increased knowledge of movement, one can tap into the intuition of the body. Intuition is the body’s own innate intelligence and when are free from interference, the body has the ability to heal itself.

As an experienced fitness coach; Stacey has developed an in-depth way of looking at each individual client.  Because we all have a different history of movement, all clients begin with a complete assessment of posture, core function and movement.   Core functioning and postural restoration are the foundation of every program; the foundation stage is the most important as it aligns the body as closely to ideal as possible, so that it is able to function in the way that it was naturally designed.  From a stable foundation and knowledge of core function, clients can begin to integrate continually challenging forms of movement with a decreased risk of injury.  The goal is to educate clients on the how and why of what they’re doing in regards to movement.
